Hopefully drawing all of these sharks have inspired you to think more closely about design and appeal. Each shark is different, some more drastically in design than others.. this is why I started this jam in the first place. Personally, I LOVE contorting shapes and stylizing things.. but the challenge is always to keep it appealing. I think you all have done a really amazing job of portraying each shark in a unique way that only you can create. I'm so impressed both with everyone's entries, and that so many folks participated. It warms my heart
Maybe next year we can brainstorm a way to help a shark charity.. that's been on my mind for awhile, and I'm always open to suggestions. I haven't really focused most of my journal entries towards conservation education, I don't want to preach, and I think we're all aware that we need to be conserving resources and recycling to protect the flora and fauna around us.
This jam was mainly to explore design and shape. There is some gorgeous work in the gallery and I urge everyone to go back through and leave comments and fav stuff you like :>
As for the fate of the gallery now that Shark Week is almost over- I think I'll leave submissions open for another month or so and then I'll close down submissions until next year. Otherwise, I think we'll just get weird.. random entries XD
Thank you ALL for hanging in there with me through this crazy week, I had so much fun running the group and meeting new folks. Plan on coming back next year!!!
