Hey gang, we're ALMOST DONE. The last shark is... whatever your little heart desires :> Disclaimer: pick a REAL shark.. you know.. something that exist, or did exist at some point!

Hopefully drawing all of these sharks have inspired you to think more closely about design and appeal. Each shark is different, some more drastically in design than others.. this is why I started this jam in the first place. Personally, I LOVE contorting shapes and stylizing things.. but the challenge is always to keep it appealing. I think you all have done a really amazing job of portraying each shark in a unique way that only you can create. I'm so impressed both with everyone's entries, and that so many folks participated. It warms my heart :)
Maybe next year we can brainstorm a way to help a shark charity.. that's been on my mind for awhile, and I'm always open to suggestions. I haven't really focused most of my journal entries towards conservation education, I don't want to preach, and I think we're all aware that we need to be conserving resources and recycling to protect the flora and fauna around us.
This jam was mainly to explore design and shape. There is some gorgeous work in the gallery and I urge everyone to go back through and leave comments and fav stuff you like :>

As for the fate of the gallery now that Shark Week is almost over- I think I'll leave submissions open for another month or so and then I'll close down submissions until next year. Otherwise, I think we'll just get weird.. random entries XD

Thank you ALL for hanging in there with me through this crazy week, I had so much fun running the group and meeting new folks. Plan on coming back next year!!!

"Farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies, farewell and adieu to you ladies of Spain. For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston. And so nevermore shall we see you again..."
Saturday's shark is the Pacific Sharpnose Shark! The wiki page is kind of weak, so here's another source of info-[link]

Only one more shark after this one! Sunday is our last day :<

Cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the water. Our shark.

Guys, seriously.. I'm so thankful to have such wonderful entries, and such wonderful participants in this group. We already have 5 pages worth of sharks in our gallery and I get so excited flipping through them every day :) I really appreciate all the cooperation and I'm so impressed to see everyone coming together for this jam. I feel like BEAR HUGGING YOU ALL .. except it's not bear week.. so I will SHARK HUG YOU ALL
SO. We thought it might be easier to organize the sharks into folders according to the day, but there seems to be a problem with submissions.. so myself and the other admins were having to put each piece into a folder manually. Needless to say, there are a LOT of submissions, so that got out of hand quite quickly.
To resolve this, I suggested we get rid of the folders and just have everything in Featured in one big lump (like we had in the first place).

I'm sure you can see where I'm heading with this, and you can all pull out your sledgehammers right about now.

We accidentally deleted some of the stuff in the folders :| It's weird, it didn't delete everything.. just some things.. idk why??
I will accept all cursing and beatings, but for now- if you don't see your work in the gallery.. just resubmit. On the bright side, thankfully we're early enough in the week that this is relatively easily resolved.. better it accidentally happening now, than happening on Friday.

Well, we live and learn right.. I know this won't be happening again next year. And again THANK YOU so much for hanging in there with me.. SO, so so so sorry for the inconvenience.
